3 Day Sniper Course


Give snipers the tools to effectively engage targets with organic sniper weapons systems and optics out to 800m, to include known distance, unknown distance, and rapid engagements. Prepare snipers to assist their department operations by providing precise support fire. Includes Field Completion Certificate.

Sniper Rifle, Optic, Bipod, rear bag, sling, helmet, body armor, call out backpack / ruck, hearing protection, notepad with pen and pencil, calculator, cellphone w/ hornady 4DOF application, seasonal clothing ( long sleeve shirt required ), rifle cleaning kit, cleaning kit for optics. For optimal training value bring gear used during a call out. 520 rounds of ammo.


Kestrel weather meter, spotting scope, tripod, shooting sticks, shooting mat, knee pads, databook

Day 1 

Classroom:  Introduction and Overview of Sniper Course, Overview of Sniper system, Introduction to Sniper optics, Rifle setup, Scope set up – level, eye relief and adjusting parallax, Introduction to ballistics, Ballistic software Hornady 4DOF

Range:  Body position and trigger control, Zero / Grouping exercise,  Chronograph use,  True sniper systems for muzzle velocity, Target engagements 25 – 800 yards,  Weapons cleaning SOP.

Day 2 

Classroom: Range estimation, wind estimation, data card

Range: Target engagement to out to 800 yards using the scopes reticle for range estimation. Known
distance target engagement to 1230 yards. Positional shooting positions.

Day 3

Classroom: Rapid target range estimation.

Range: Rapid target engagements utilizing the techniques taught in the classroom. Engagements will be
200-650 yards from an alternate shooting position while wearing full kit, no prone. Helmet, body armor,
gear worn during a call out.
